Your surgical experience at with Dr Timms doesn’t end with your procedure.

Your post-operative care is a crucial part of the service we provide, and we are here to support and assist your recovery in any way we can.

Your post-operative care plan is designed to keep you well informed, reassured and as comfortable as possible at every stage of your recovery.

Post-operative appointments

A post-operative appointment will be made for you, either when you book your surgery or before you are discharged from hospital.

Dr Timms will review you immediately after your procedure and before you are discharged home from hospital. It is usual practice for all patients to be reviewed by one of our nurses at the consulting rooms, 7-10 days after surgery.

Nursing staff available Mon-Fri

As part of our commitment to our patients, we have highly specialised and qualified nursing staff available at the consulting rooms from Monday to Friday, within normal working hours. Our nursing staff are on hand to answer phone and email enquiries, and to review patients whenever required, even if you haven’t made an appointment.

Dr Timms encourages all of his patients to contact the consulting rooms at any time during normal office hours, should you have any queries or concerns about your post-operative recovery or progress.

Emergencies or after-hours care

Emergency after-hours information details are left on our answering service should you call outside of the normal office hours.

For urgent matters, we recommend you contact the hospital where you had your surgery. The nursing staff will then contact Dr Timms and he will give them instructions regarding any urgent care you may require.
